Cascabelera came to our Cortijo while being in foal to Sortija. She was chosen among several mares because of her conformation and impressive movement. We knew she had been bred to the famous stallion Macanuo III, but never thought such a wonderful filly was going to be delivered. Macanuo III has been considered one of the top stallions of Spain and Mexico. |
For our surprise, Sortija was born - a truly unique filly that kept her beautiful dark black/bay color. Her qualities were not limited to this only; on the contrary, her conformation and movements confirmed the astonishing characteristics imprinted on her by Macanuo III.
As soon as we saw her born and follow the steps of her dam, we immediately knew that she came just as the Mexican saying, "Like a ring to the finger", or a Sortija (Wedding Alliance Band); one that has been made to the precise size and for a determined purpose, reason why we decided to name her Sortija.
Once the moment arrived, Sortija honored her lineage, developing into a mare with great docility, captivating movements, frankly driven, and with a conformation many stallions would surely envy.
Sortija allows children to ride her and train in Alta Escuela, as if anticipating the fragility of her rider. Truly, Sortija has become a companion anyone would cherish and a treasured member of our stables.
